One of the most satisfying moments during the game is the one when you found the solution and as you go one by one thru the lines, it proves to be the correct one: all lines lead to the same result! Finding that solution comes from years of accumulated experience in analysing the position, as well as creating plans leading there. A position with an existing solution is like a ripe fruit: you need to take it. Your tasks:
a) Explain why this position is ripe = has a winning solution for White
b) Show the best solution you can think of

Total available points for this puzzle is 20. The answers will be published next week together with puzzle #197.

Puzzle #195 solution:
Spielmann - Honlinger, Wien 1936. It was rather interesting to see how solvers either got it or they did not. Here and there points were deducted for some wrong analysis elements. The chosen answer of the week has been provided by Justin. Congratulations!
a) The material is even. It's the late middle game. Both Kings are unsafe because Black's Queen can check on b2, while White's Queen pins the g6-pawn to the Black King and can pile-up on it.
White's Bishop pins the f5 pawn to g6. White's Knight supports the White Queen attacking g6.
Black's Knight defends the c5-pawn that blocks the White Rook's movement.
White's plan is to start attacking and checking, then trade pieces to gain material or gain good positions.
b) Solution:

White gains 2 pawns and 2 passed pawns}
