This is a critical moment in a famous Kings and pawns endgame. We reached a crossroads from where the game can end up in a draw, or as a win by one side. Using all the knowledge you have accumulated so far, here are your tasks:
a) Analyse and decide what are the best plans for both sides
b) Black to move; find the best line and the correct result this game ended with

Total available points for this puzzle is 20. The answers will be published next week together with puzzle #185.

Puzzle #183 solution:
Wagner - Duhrssen, correspondence chess game 1927. I was pleasantly surprise to get a full correct result from Daniel beside Philip; congratulations to both of you! Harmony got more on her second try, but the rest were not paying enough attention to all twists and turns of the endgame. The minimum all should have figured out was the fact White had only 3 legal moves
Here is Daniel's answer:
White has a crystal clear idea in mind that he wants to play for a draw (stalemate), while Black understands this well and wants to prevent it from happening and win instead.
