Both sides have good and bad aspects in their position. You can also see what happened in the game from this point on. Your tasks:
a) Identify the good and bad aspects for both sides
b) Go over the rest of the moves to see how white won it. Why did black resign? Find a better/ faster way to win it

Total available points for this puzzle is 20. The answers will be published next time together with puzzle #315.

Puzzle #313 solution:
Game Bareev - Chernyshov, Sochi 2005. The best answer to the first question was from Coco:
a) "White's plan should be to attack right away, since black's goal is to bring out more defenders when possible. By limiting the amount of defenders guarding black's king, the attack should be more successful. In addition to the king exposure and lack of defenders, black's only defender is the queen, which is one of the least suitable pieces for defense, since it can easily be shooed away by lesser pieces, and its strong potential could be far better off with an attack. Also, white should try to bring out more attackers, namely the bishop, and perhaps use a minor piece to pin the queen, therefore gaining material advantage. White should keep in mind the king shouldn't be able to run away through an escape square. This helps with checkmating purposes or force black to sacrifice the highly valued queen to prevent mate."
